Antti Lovag is a habitologist for whom the house is a space of freedom where spheres and curves supplant right angles. His encounter with Pierre Bernard, adventurer and philanthropist, enabled him to successfully construct his first house.

The Maison Bernard Endowment Fund’s purpose is the protection of Antti Lovag’s work with Pierre Bernard. Originally a family residence, the House is one of the most beautiful organic architecture achievements.

By installing «Souffle», Susanna Fritscher sought to create a dialogue between the solidity of architectural forms and the fragility of crystal. Placed in the living room, the gaze discovers his work under a multiplicity of perspectives.

Presentation

Each year the Maison Bernard also hosts an artist-in-residence. The selected artist receives a scholarship and must create an original work fitting in with the house’s architecture and its environment. The resultant works will be exposed in situ.

Yves Gellie

The third book in the series is dedicated to Yves Gellie. The artist recounts his meeting with Pierre Bernard and Antti Lovag and his singular approach to architecture.
